Our Plan
Here at T.A.N. we hope to establish attainable systems of NiV testing for populations in infected cities or countries. For individuals, filling out the form here, will make an appointment to get tested. It is important to keep up testing regularly in infected areas to understand the direness of the situation, allowing us to put proper protocols in place to stop the virus from spreading. This is why, even if the results prove to be negative for NiV, individuals are encouraged to get tested regularly (every few weeks), as identifying Nipah early on can be crucial for both the health of the individual and preventing further transmission of the virus. If a test turns out positive for Nipah, the holder is encouraged to quarantine for two weeks and adhere to the treatments listed here.

Unchecked animals are also causes of widespread infection of Nipah, so testing animals in zoos, farms and other livestock companies is essential to keeping control of the virus. To tackle this issue, T.A.N. has established mobile testing facilities in major cities of infected areas. For all institutions holding animals or livestock, filling out this form will make an appointment for a mobile testing facility to pass by. As with individuals, if tested positive for NiV, it is necessary to quarantine them to an area separate from the other non-infected animals. As with humans, this should last around two weeks at the end of which they should be tested again before being re-integrated into their usual habitats.
